Explore Our Program

The Textile Arts program provides a critical investigation of clothing and textiles.  Craft, material culture, identity, global history, community practice, and sustainability are featured areas of study.

Students learn techniques in weaving, surface design, and sewn construction towards applications in fashion, costume, and contemporary art.

The curriculum centers on circular design philosophies for clothing the body, which promote ethical approaches to research, ideation, and production.

Our faculty are working artists within the apparel or entertainment industries who actively engage with sustainable practices in their research or creative work.
